Hidden in the lush foothills of the Andes, Rio Dorado Camp offers a rare kind of golden dorado fishing — intimate water, technical sight casting, and the feeling that you’ve stepped into a corner of Argentina few anglers ever reach.
The camp sits deep within Las Yungas, a subtropical mountain forest that holds more than half of Argentina’s biodiversity. Towering jungle canopy, clear rivers, and the sudden explosion of a dorado chasing a fly create a setting that feels as wild as it is beautiful.
The Fishery
The experience is built for anglers who enjoy the technical side of dorado fishing. Clear water and smaller jungle rivers mean spotting fish, reading structure, and placing precise casts. It’s a style of fishing often compared to Bolivia’s famous Tsimane fisheries, but on a smaller, more intimate scale…and not requiring helicopter.
The trip combines two distinct rivers. Guests spend three days fishing the clear waters around Rio Dorado Camp before transitioning to a three-day float on the Juramento River. Together they create a varied and immersive dorado experience — jungle sight fishing one day, drifting broad desert canyon water the next.
THE CAMP
The camp itself is rustic and comfortable, with cabins set quietly in the jungle. With space for just four anglers at a time, the atmosphere remains personal and relaxed, allowing guests to fully disconnect and settle into the rhythm of the river.
Amenities include authentic Argentine traditional meals and open bar.
Rio Dorado Camp is offered as an intimate golden dorado expedition - private jungle water in Argentina’s Yungas.
